All the painting is forceful and direct the paint solidly laid, and everything remarkably well modeled Each one must judge for himself about the de gree of detail called for in such a work I am not too well pleased with all that drawing of tiles on the near roof But some like it exceedingly However, I cannot find any fault with the manner in which he has made these details sit in the atmos phere. It is about perfect. EXILED FROM FINLAND Two Men of That Oppressed Country I Seek Homes in America.
