RATE BILL PASSED BY SENATE
WITHOUT AMENDMENT.
Hudnall Bore the Brunt of the Fight
for the Administration MenVote
Taken at Night After All-Day Debate
on the Anniversary of the Famous
Stalwart Bolt.
Madison W is May 19 Bv a unanimous
vote and without amending it in any paiticular
the senate at 8 20 clock last night passed
the committee substitute foi the original La
I ollette railway commission bill The bill was
first ordered to engrossment by a unanimous vote
and then upon motion of Senatoi Kreutzei the
rules were suspended and the bill was put upon
its final passage
The long debate of over seven hours the
heated struggle and the stubborn tho unequal
contest suggested another scene a year ago
yesterday and almost to the hour when after
hours of debate in the university gymnasium
the stalwarts walked out of the last republican
stite convention held In Wisconsin But theand
result was different Theie was bitterness then
while theie is good feeling now When the
long day work was completed and the last
roll called senators and spectators bioke into
cheers and applause
Appointive Commission.
After debating on the amendments all dayhe
the senate ordered to third reading tho bill
as reported by the committee on railroads es
tablishing an appointive commission of three
members at $o 000 a vear with power to ad
just tates when found extortionate or unrea
sonable
Opposition which two veais ago defeated all
attempts at any legislation on this subject
vesterdaj contented itself with proposing
amendments to make the commission elective
rather than appointive bv the governor and
change generally the bill so as to limit
and reduce the nowers of the commission and
to make the proposed law less effective
Hudnall Replies to Whitehead.
The debate was by far the most spirited and
earnest of the present session But little per
sonal or political animosity or acrimony ciept
in until after all the proposed amendments
were defeated lhen Senator Whitehead the
stalwart leader offeied a long list of amend
ments all of which had been examined and re
jected bv the committee and then asked that
discussion be delayed
Mr Whitehead was charged bv Senator Hud
nail with attempting to make the law of no
effect with being the list feeble remnant of
tailroad and corporation forces that had ruled
W isconsin politics for a generation and had
dictated legislation Senator Hudnall carried
the La Toilette side of the debate thruout and

A SERIOUS HIBSTAKE.
Don't make the serious mistake of
neglecting the signs of a simple mdi
gestion
You must know that even such a
seemingly unimportant matter as
wind on -your stomach is much more
serious than it seems
It is a gas, the result of the decay
ot the food vou have eaten, which is
actually lying inside you, rotting, in
stead of digesting, awav.
Now, of course, you can easily ap
preciate the horrible danger of alhrw
ing a mass of festering food to he in
vour stomach and taint all tho sources
of \our life and health
Tor, after putrefaction (instead of
digestion) has turned this food into a
liquid (poisonous) form, \our glands,
and othei organs of assimilation suck
it up and distribute it through vour
blood current into even part of your
body
You see these glands have no power
of distinguishing the bad from the
good in a case like that
The suck up all the stuff they can
get, and take it to the liver and kid
ne\s, leaving ^t to these organs to pu
rify the whole locking mass
And these delicate organs then over
work themselves trying to clean out
the poison
So then you have kidney or liver
trouble
And what thev tail to get out, goes
somewhere else, and poisons that part
may go to your brain and give you
a headache, oi to ou big toe and
give ou gout or rheumatism
And so on
All because, when you found a slight
sign of indigestion, vou didn's take
the antidoteStuart's Dyspepsia Tab'
lets
You see, the whole proposition -just
simmers down to this
It depends on yomself whether to be
sick or well
One way to be sure, never to have
anj of the troubles which always fol
low in the tram of an attack of indi
gestion, is toDiet.
Eat little Eat nothing that you
know gives you any distress during
digestion
Another way, not quite so strenuous,
is to eat what vour appetite craves
for, and still your stomach's distress
with Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets.
Perhaps a combination of both plans
would give the best all round results.
But the main thing to remember is
this Never neglect indigestion, for
if you do, you will surely live to re
gret it.
Another important thing is, that no
medicine of anv kind will do you the
same good, for all forms of mdiges
tion, from the simplest to the most
complicated* that Stuart's Dyspepsia
Tablets will

Owing to the recent general clamor made against
medicines containing large quantities of alcohol. Doctor
Pierce has decided to prove to the public that his
"Favorite Prescription" for the diseases and weaknesses
of women is not a patent medicine in the full accept-
ance of that term. Hereafter the ingredients of his
Favorite Prescription will be printed on the wrapper
of every bottle that leaves the laboratory.
BLUE COHOSH {Caulophyllum Thahdroides).
GOLDEN SEAL (Hydrastis Canadensis),
NATURE'S OWN (SURE
For those distressing complaints so common to women.
During an extended practice, in which Dr. Pierce
made the diseases of women a specialty, he found that
a rare combination of American medicinal plants would
almost invariably cure all the debilitating wastes and
drains, all the aches and pains incident to womanhood.
Consequently he put up this favorite remedy in a form
that could be easily procured at every drug store.
DR. PIERCE'S FAVORITE PRESCRIPTION
Keeps women looking young by keeping disease away
from those marvelously delicate organs which dis-
tinguish the female sex. It quiets the nerves, and
stops those bearing-down sensations. It fits the wife
for the task of child-bearing, making the period of
gestation one of comfort, shortening labor and making
it almost painless. It fortifies the whole system, so
that recovery after confinement is quick, and there are^
no dangerous after-effects. The babe of the womaa
who takes "Favorite Prescription" is sure to be health-^
ier than the babe of the mother who does not take it""*
