mendations of Superintendent
Opposition to the proposed water motor
system for Salt LoIcc'h rcsldenco district
was strongly voiced by tho Real Estato
association at last night's meeting. It
was tho senso of the mooting: that fur
ther extension of tho meter system Is op
posed, for tho following reasons:
First Tho meter system will not In
crease tho water supply.
Second Tho first cost, placing and
maintenance of tho motor .system will,- In
a short time, cost tho citizens an amount
sufficient to buy all tho water rights trib
utary to Salt Lake.
Third Tho meter system wherever tried
.n Western cities has proven a failure.
Fourth The adoption of motors ln the
residence districts will restrict tho use
of water to such an extent on lawns and
gardens as to greatly Impair tho leautv
of tho city.
It was iurthor agreed by tho associa
tion to assist tho city ln every possible
way in increasing the water supply.
