the Ogden Waterworks company to main
tain a waterworks system In tho streets
and alloys of Ogden City way Introduced
by Councilman Williams and pnssed Its
Hr3t reading after a heated discussion.
The engineer was Instructed to begin
at once the opening of Canal alley, ns
most of the property owncrw havo agreed
to scllhu right of way for that purpose.
Contractor P, J. Moran was present and
agreed, upon request of tho Council, to
extend his guarantee on paving done on
Twenty-fifth street from two to thrco
years, and frdm two to five years on work
dono on Wall and Grant avenues.
Councilman Williams was elected Mayor
pro tem. In the absence of Mayor Glas
mdnn, who will enjov a few days' ouilng.

urday between Morgan Evans, president
of tho Lehl Irrigation company. Mayor
Clark of American Fork and Mayor
Wadley of Pleasant Grove, and Engineer
Dorcmus of. SalL Lake. It was decided to
put a concrete and cement dam fifteen
feet high in the outlet of Silver Lake in
American Fork canyon and use the lako
as a reservoir for Impounding tho waters
for use during the Irrigation season.
The lako has a surface of about ten
acres and the work will be comparative
ly small expense. The allied companies
also agreed to tunnol Into several springH
In the canyon with the idea of Increas
ing their flow, and If successful they will
-bo adopted on a more extensive scale the
coming season.
Willie, the 1 1-year-old son of City Coun
cilman G. L. Comer, died yesterday. The
young man had his leg amputated somo
time ago and had not thoroughly recov
ered. Del Roy Knudson, tho son of Mathlas
Knudson, .who fell from a trco a month
ago and paralyzed his lower limbs, docs
not Improve and he was taken to tho hos

Suicide Finds Rest in Grave.

William D. Allen, who committed suicide
at his home near tho Sliver King mine

at the cravo. Rev. Mr. Murray of the

Fork and relieved of 530. The men were ,
sure that they could Identify the hold-up
nnd Sheriff Harmon and Deputy Sheriff
Dave Bennett arrested two me"n whom
they pointed out and they admitted that
they had had a light with the complain
ants, but not with any Intention ot rob
bery. The young men reported later '

Leslie Williams's nose began to bleed.
So frequent were the hemorrhages that
ho became emaciated and died last Thurs
