The Four Voting Districts Each District Will Have Like Awards.
The city ha? been divided into four
voting districts, and each will have Its
own set of awards. This Is for the pur
pose or equalising tne dlstnautlon of
awards among the people of the different
sections of the city.
The four set of awards will be Iden
tical, and will be given to the contest'
snts In the various districts procuring
the greatest number of votes. Tnti
makes the contest practically four sepa
rste competitions, in addition to these
awards there will te a grand award of a

entire District of coiumDia, irrespective
of voting districts.
The district divisions have reference
merely to the awards and In no wise re
late to the methods of obtaining votes.
Contestants may procure votes In any
part of the city, irrespective of whether
the merchants which tney patronize are
tn tneir voting districts or not.

tire territory west of Kignteenth tttreet.
This includes tne houses aiong the west
tide of the street.
DISTRICT No. 2 I bounded by and

of Morth Capltnl street, north to Michi
gan Avenue; the north side of Michigan
Avenue to rlarewood Koad, tne west side

directly south ot District No. S. and Is
bounded by and Includes the east side
ot Eighteenth street, south ot U street:

DISTRICT No. comprises the entire
territory east of and including tne east
aids of North Capitol and South Capjtol

The object ot the contest Is to stimu
late business and to direct the purchas
ing public to those concerns where they
can get the best returns for their money.
The effect of the competition will be to
increase newspaper advertising, to make
the public acquainted with the leading
retail merchants and manufacturers op
erating in the city, and to educate the
public to patronize these enterprising es
tablishments. The Herald recommends
every establishment end product which
will be advertised in connection with the
