New York, Jan. 51 An attack has been
1made upon the Guggenheim Interests by
a croup of prominent Western stock
holders In an effort to -nrest away the
control of the Federal Mining and Smelt
ing Company from the American Smelt
Ins and Refining Company.
Tho first skirmish came to-day when
the Quggenhelms were Bit en formal no
tice, prior to suit, that the contract of
3805, which elves the so-called "Smelter
Trust" absolute control over the prod
ucts of the Federal Company until 1930;
Is considered unenforclble by the stock
holders" committee.

considered one of the foremost strong-1
