N OTICE. COMM ITTED TO JAIL. A NEGRO MAN, CALLING HIMSELF HENRY 1IAGEN, was taken up and committed to the Jail of Craven countv, at Newbern. on the 21st January, 1S.VJ, as a runuwav. Said bov is well built, stout and likely, cop per colored complexion, live feet eight inches high, and about thirty-live vears of age. Has no murk or scar visi ble save one on his r:ght hand. The negro says he was bom and raised in Ph mouth, that he has been living near Wilmington for 10 or 12 years past, and that he came from there to Newbern. The boy llagen claims to be free, but on suspicion tiia he is a slave he has been taken up and committed to Jail as above mentioned; nnd this notice is to call upon the owner to come forward, pay charges, aud take him awav; or if he be free, let some one capable of establishing the fact come forward and do so, that he may be set at liberty.
