Clements, Twelfth, between C and D streets, and bad a supper of oysters. Jn pavment he offered two one-dollar bills ot the Franktin Bank of Baltimore, the appear ance ot which excited the bar tender's sus picion that the moiiey was bogus. City officer Williamson arrested Mr. McCormick, and de livered him to the Metropolitan Police. This morning he had a hearing before Justice Clay top, and the notes proving to be genuine, were returned to Mr McCormick, and the case was dismissed. The Result ?'The robbing of F. C. Ryan* referred to in the Star last evening, was traced up by the offi'-ers. The robbery wai perpe trated at No. 335 l'2th street, kept by a woman named Mina Reynolds, where Ryan was the night before last with Philip Gillen. Ryan laid down on a sofa and slept. Gillen sat down on a chair in front of him and was seen to put his hand iu Ryan's breast pocket and take something out. Gillen was arrested at the .Metropolitan Hotel by officer Snllivan, and *was taken before Justice Clayton, who held lum to bail for court. Soldier Shot.?Yesterday morning, as a train containing a number of soldiers under guard, was crossing 11th street, at Maryland avenne, on the way over the river, three sol diers mmped of! and ran. They were immedi ately called to halt when one of them turned back, but several shots were fired at the two "Who refused to halt, and unfortunately the one returning was struck in the body with three balls killing him instantly. Burglary.?Last night, the warehouse of the Washington Express Co., corner New Jer sey avenue and D street, wa< entered by bur glars. who effected an entrance by boring around the door knobs with a brace and bit, and knocked the lock off inside, the desks and drawers were opened in the same way.
