Tomato Bisque". Stir one
quart of tomatos with a half tea
spoonful of soda for a half hour.
Boil two quarts of fresh milk, add
to it a quarter of a pound of butter,

THREE WAYS TO COOK
Almond Cookies. One-half
pound butter, one-half pound
sugar, three yolks of eggs, one
half cupful milk, three cupfuls
flour, rind oqe lemon (grated),
four teasponfiils baking powder.
Mix, roll out thin, and cut into
small cookies with following on '
top each: Three whites eggs
beaten, three-fourths pound pul
verized sugar, one-half pound
chopped almonds, mix well to
gether. Make this one hour be
fore mixing cookie 'dough.
'Nut Cookies. One t and one
half cups brown sugar, one cup
"butter, three eggs beaten separ
ately, one teaspoon-soda dissolved
in little boiling-water, two and
three-quarter cups flour, one
pinch salt, -one teaspoon cinna
mon, one-half teaspoon' cloves,
dne pound raisins, dropped with
teaspoon in buttered tins.
Oatmeal Cookies. Cream one
cupful butter, one and one-half
cupfuls sugar, till light. Add
three eggs beaten light, one-half
teaspoonful salt, one teaspqonful
cinnamon, one cupful chopped
nuts, one-half cupful raisins
blended with flour, two cupfuls
oatmeal. Put nuts, oatmeal and
raisins through meat grinder.
After thoroughly mixed add two
cupfuls flour sifted twice, and one
teaspqonful soda dissolved in one
tablespoonful and a half boiling
hot water. Drop on cookie pans
by 'teaspoonful and bake. i --- -
