The Women's Trades Union
League, whose valuable library
was destroyed in the fire that
swept the Open Board of Trade
building a few weeks ago, have
decided to hold ,their "book
party," the purpose of which is to
recruit a new collection of books.
On Saturday afternoon, Jan
uary 27, the rooms of the Wom
an's City Club, 31 W. Lake street,
is. the place, and the hours are
from 1 to 7 in the afternoon.
Invitations for the affair were
sent out yesterday, and, with
them a list of books embraced in
the library destroyed, mainly
works "by standard authors of fic
tion and scientific subjects. The
desire is to secure a collection as
nearly duplicating the former one
as possible. Any kind "of book
will be accepted, and visitors are
not limited to one copy.
Mrs. M. H. Wilmarth will have
charge of the reception., and will
be assisted by Mrs. Raymond
Robins, Miss Anna Stehagen and
Miss Florence Sherwood, officers
of the Women's Trade Union
