There is no doubt but that La Follette polled a much bigger Vote against Taft than Roose velt would have polled. This vote, like that of North Dakota, fridicates that while Roosevelt is the so-called progressive choice ,of the Republican politicians, La- Follette is the choice of the rank and file-progressives. Had Roosev(elt kept out of the fight, the chance for beating Taft and making the Republican party truly progressive would have been much better.
