San Francisco, June 12.- just
-because a neighbor had a long
tongue and a United States secret
service man was extra specially
bullheaded, the hair of pretty lit
tle Mrs. Oleda Schwln was turned
"white in a day.
Mrs. Schwin's husband has
been experimenting for some time
to get a good emblem for sale for
the 1915 "world's fair. He has been
using an electroplating outfit,
molds, plaster of pans, and he
.worked behind painted windows.'
One of Schwin's neighbors told
this to a friend, Harry Moffitt, U.
S. secret service operative.
"Counterfeiters!" e x c rai med

Moffitt didn't find out anything
by the shadowing, so he got a
formal search warrant, and one
day, while Schwin himself was
out, he raided the Schwin home.
He went through everything in
the house;includihg some of Mrs.
sions, and he scared the little
woman half to death.
Mrs Schwin has cpnjplained to
U. S. Commissioner Krull, and
Krull has promised an investigation.
