Humanity is not much different now than it was in His time. .
We still have the poor and the oppressed, the money changers and
the Pharisees and the scribes,, the masters and the slaves. . .
The people still have their troubles and they still need comfort
and consolation. They still need love, and get mighty little of it
We have many preachers, many professors of Christiahity, but not
so many of them are teachers and social workers.
The gospel of Christ is as sweet, as pure and as beautiful now
as it was then, and the people need the Christianity of Christ now a?
much as the people of those days needed it. And if we always got
it as our brethren of those times g(jt it, it would be as popular now
as it was then.
But it should be available every hour of the day instead of at
certain hours on Sunday. It should be a, part of every one's every-1
flay life. When a preacher finds that the people Won't come to him,
let him go to them, as did the one great teacher, preacher and social:
worker. If he hath the spirit of Christ himself, he will not hide his
light under a bushel, for the people will find it out. If there -is any
thing wrong at all if isn't with the people, but rather with the failure
of the preacher to understand them and" to lead where they would:
follow. . .
When a man preaches that every man is his brother, it is up
to him to make good in his own life to practice what he preaches
