murdered gambler; on -stand in

band. Mrs. Rosenthal was clad in
deepest mourning. Many of her
answers were so low that the
court had to ask her to repeat
them. -She was on the stand 40
minutes. , r
District Att'y Whitman has
called all his chief witnesses now.
Mrs. Herman Rosenthal,
He is expected to rest his case
this afternoon.
It is thought Lieut. Becker will
be his own. chief witness. If
Whitman gets Becker on the
stand he is almost certain' to tiy
and prove that Becker collected
graft as head of the strong arm
squad. m
