DUNNE TO TAKE A HAND
After the Illinois assembly had
taken three futile ballots this
morning on the temporary speak
ership and adjourned until 3
o'clock this afternoon, Gov.-elect
Dunne declared he would take a
hand in the mess tomorrow if a
settlement was not reached.
He will send a resolution to the
house calling upon it to organize
so the new state officials can be
inaugurated. The temporary
speaker, under Dunne's plan,
would have his power curtained,
and would only serve until the
vote was canvassed.
The senate completed organ
ization this afternoon by electing
Walter I. Manny, Democrat,
presdent pro tern. All other offi
ces were filled.
