long hours in the death house at
Sing Sing prison, had been told
neither of the birth nor the death.

And so Charles Becker must
go to the chair with two lives to
answer for, one of them, his own
For thene is little doubt of the
reason for the little baby's short
stay on earth.
While the child that died so
pitifully Saturday night was be
ing nurtured into existence the
mother was in court.
She listened to the story of the
sins of the system. She heard the
gruesome tales of Gyp the Blood

She saw her husband standing
at the bar. She saw the judge
put on the black and grisly cap.
She heard him sentence her hus

as he was led away.
And so her baby died, and the
life that Becker gave was taken
by the life that he took.
