Edison dreamed about it; and"
Jthought he had found, a method -of
doing it. His method was very
expensive,- however v But now a
Dutch engineer named Harms,
who worked with Edison and
later went)to;Europe, has an
nounced that he, has done the
rick. He has perf ecteda system
of forms that will admit the pour
ing of a concrete house complete
in six' hours.
Add to this time a period of
three days to erect-,the forms and
two days to allow the concrefe to
set, and you Have your house built
in less than a week. It is advised,-
however, -that the house be per
mitted to -harden hvthe forms for
at'least six days. ;
several houses in France and Hol
land by his method. The con
crete is used in an almost liquid
form and is poured "into forms
of steel. The "forms -are expen
sive, but it is pointed out that
the forms belong to the man who
holds the contract for building
the house, and the man who pays
for the building is only required
to pay for the materials used,
with an ordinary profit added.
The entire house is constructed
of "concrete stairways, parti
tions, roof, everything about it.
