lying prostrate on the -floor of the
- county jail and eight maddened pris-'
oners making an effort to escape and
soiree a condemned murderer, what do
you-suppose she did?.
She grabbed hers fallen husband's
six-shooterforced every prisoner at

Mrs. Waldeh was in the living
apartments of the'jail when she heard t
a thud on the floor below. Her hus
band had just left her to deliver a"
belated meal to a prisoner. , Within
the past'month two attempts "had
been made) by the inmates, to saw
their way out of jail. Both attempts
were detected by the sheriff and the
offenders placed in solitary confine
ment. This caused much ill feeling
