Married Men Endanger Young Girl's Good Name by
Taking Her to Notorious Erie Hotel Judge
Bitterly Scores Method Used.
. The method used by the Rev. Elmer L. 'Williams to
obtain; evidence against disorderly hotels in his district
were 'scored bitter ly( by Judge Hopkins in the Morals
Court today. j
Two of Williams' "investigators," both married
men, -admitted in court that they, separately, had taken
an innocent girl to a disorderly house, had each regis
tered there with the girl, as man and wife and had each
stayed in a locked room with the girl for half an hour.
- ' The girl used by the investigators is only twenty
two years Vld.
, Another of Williams' "investigators" admitted that
before the married "investigators" had secured their
"clenching" testimony against the hotel by using an in
nocent'girl, he had seen women openly soliciting men in
front of the hotel and taking men into the hotel.'
Judge Hopkins called Williams .before the bench.
"I think tHe method used to obtain evidence in this
