sar freshman, beat the shotput record
established by Miss Inez Milholland,
the strenuous suffragist, making a
new record of 3S feet inch.
Miss Milholland had thrown a
basketball 77 feet, Miss Hardin tossed
it 80 feet She rounded out her re
markable performance by throwing"
a baseball 205 feet 7 inches, Ihus
breaking the record held, by Dorothy
Smith of 204 feet 5 Inches. Miss
Hardin's father is inclined to dismiss
lightly the subject of his daughter's
prowess. "Elizabeth is just a healthy,
vigorous girl who loves outdoor life
and is filled with the exhilaration of
youth," he said at his Newark, N. J.,
home.
