The new divorce law which goes
into effect January 1, 1914, requires
a year's residence before application
for divorce can be made. Since-June
30 it has been impossible to come
within the six" months provision -of
the law.
Many internationally known wo
men have sought Reno for marital re
lief. Mrs. Margaret Emerson McKim,
daughter of Isaac Emerson, the
"Bromo Seltzer" king, was one of
these. On the day of the Jeffries
