'PREACHER TAKES SHOOTING IRONS IN HAND
AND ROUNDS UP COW PUNCHERS
Rev. A. F. Glover and a bunch of
typical cow punchers at De Beque,
By W. H. Alburn.
De Beque, Col., Aug. 2. A preach
er in the cattle country isn't -wafted
to the sides on flowery beds of ease.
Nevertheless, Rev. A. F. Glover, the
sky pilot of De Beque and its rugged
vicinity, manages to worry along.
He hasn't much use for beds of
ease, anyhow. He prefers a blanket
on the ground or a saddled broncho.
And when it comes to dealing with
the sinners of the cattle range
Not long ago a bunch of cow
punchers from the Nuckles outfit
surged into this metropolis (pop. 200)
from the Rhone canyon and began
acting up. The town, like the range,
is "dry," but they'd connected with a
lot of bad whisky. So it seemed ap
propriate to ride up and down the
main street yelling and sliooting.
Mayor Walker and the town mar
shal were annoyed, but the marshal
.didn't feel equal to the job of round-'
ing up the bunch.
