Albany, N. y.Aug. 14. Mrs. Sul
zer, wife of the impeached governor
of New York, who tried to take all
the blame to save her husband, is
reported to be a nervous wreck. So
serious is her condition that a nerve
specialist has been summoned and he
insisted that the stricken, woman be
kept quiet.
DntU Mrs. Sulzer recovers her
health it is stated that no announce
ment will be made of what her story
will be, but the governor's friends
intimate that when she takes the
stand and tells her complete story
"there will be nothing left of the im
peachment proceedings."
Two governors on the job today.
Sulzer is in the executive mansion
and the eexciitive chamber in the
capitol, and Lieut-Gov. Glynn is in
his little room off the senate chamber.
Sulzer and his lawyers don't' recog
nize the validity of assembly's action.
Glynn will make no move until legis
lature reconvenes Tuesday. Then
will send name of Abram Ii Elkus,
reformer and lawyer, to senate as
state commissioner of labor. Elkus
will be confirmed and the way paved
for court proceedings.
Before that Sulzer, through his
lawyer, plans to get action. He will
pardon a convict in Sing Sing prison,
where there is a friendly warden. The
warden will, if the plans now laid
are carried out, question the right of
Sulzer to act and a habeas corpus
writ will he sued out immediately.

WHITMAN COMES TO RESCUE OF
AFTER-ONE-O'CLOCK DINERS
New York, Aug. 14. While a thou
sand people waited outside to see the
thing pulled off, and 300 diners, in
cluding the district attorney, were in
side, policemen, acting under instruc
tions from Mayor Gaynor, made a
raid on Healy's restaurant at Sixty
sixth street, just off Broadway, for
the fifth time.
Inspector Dwyer, Captain Hart and
Deputy Commissioner McKay were
personally in charge of the raid and
Dwyer caught a "tartar" when one
f of his men, a blond and youthful po
liceman, tried to eject District Attor
ney Charles S. Whitman.
Dwyer, who had just told a group,
of men diners to "get the hell out
of here," caught sight of Whitman
and made a leap toward him, apolo
gizing as he came and explaining that
his men had not recognized Whitman,
