from the players.
Fans in St. Louis treat the Cards
as a joke, and there is much dissatis
faction with Huggins. Frequently in
the last few weeks there have been
reports that Huggins was either to
"resign or be ousted. These reports,
of course, have been denied. Just
remember that the rumor that Jake
Stahl was to be fired as manager of
the Red Sox was denied by President

This is an extremely vital spot with
baseball magnates, who don't care
for money any more than they do
for their right eyes. The team is a
drag on the finances of the entire
league. Visiting teams in the past

nates are not going to stand for this.
It hits their bank account too hard.
Either of the St. Louis teams could
have made good money this year with
a decent showing. With the Amer
icans wallowing in the ruck, Mrs.
Britton could have cleaned up with
a team at the head of the second divi
sion. The same applies with reverse

But the Cards must make a better
