DIARY OF FATHER TIME
An old fellow like myself, whose
business it is to mark time, has to
smile every time you Earth Polks be
gin to prepare for Christmas, so bad
ly have you got your dates mixed.
Not one in a million of you .probably
know that you are four years and six
days off in your reckoning of time.
Christ's birthday was really in the
year 4. before Christ, as you reckon
it Your present way of computing
time was introduced in 532 A. D. A
thousand years later you Earth Polk
discovered that you were in error but,
afraid of further mixing up things,
you stuck to it and this year you're
going to 'celebrate what you really
ought to have celebrated Dec. X9,
1S09. But this'isn't the only instance
m which you Earth Folk try to make
fact by persisting in 'error.
