DIARY OF FATHER TIME
The other day I was reading the
account of the building of Noah's
ark, which was quite a time back. It
was quite some ship building, con
sidering that Noah was 600 years old,
and the job when done didn't look
much like that steamship Imperator,
about which you modern fellows are
Noah's vessel was 500 feet long,
about 83 feet in breadth and 50 feet
high. As there were eight grown folks
in Noah's family, some of the larger
animals, like the mammoth elephant,
rhmoceros and camel, must have
been crowded some. However, old
Noah was a typical sailor, for about
the first thing he did .on getting
ashore was to go on a spree. ,
In connection therewith, I've al
ways been sorry for Ham, one of
Noah's three sons. You remember
that Ham was so unfortunate as to
see his father lying naked and full
of champagne in his tent, and Noah
made Ham's son.Xanaan, servant to
the whole family in punishment.
There, evidently, was no such thing
as leading the old man home full of
corn juice in those days.
