Little Bontoc Girls and How They Carry-Mahima's Baby.
It's a very old custom and a very general custom all over the world, in
America and elsewhere, to make the' little girls of vthe family take care of
the baby. In the photograph is shown. twolittle girlsXoffthe Bontoc tribe
in the Philippines carrying little Brother or -sister on their backs. The baby
is tied on in a sort of bag. Notice that the little girl in the foreground is
not particularly pleased with her Jpb.
One of the men in a certain militia assumed 'a fighting attitude. Then
Icompany made a disparaging remark ,the captain remarked, sharply:
