Turning North Lasalle Street Over to the Lincoln Park
Commissioners for a Boulevard Is Another
Step in the Wrong Direction.

turning 'over to the "Lincoln Park commissioners North
Lasalle street from the river north.
That means that North Lasalle street is to be made
into a boulevard. ...
And making it into a boulevard means that one
more of Chicago's great thoroughfares is to be devoted
practically to the exclusive use of automobiles and news
paper delivery vehicles.
One of the funny things about Chicago is that it has
no control over many of its thoroughfares, because that
control has been turned over to the park commissioners,
and has policemen not controlled by the city patrolling
those boulevards.
