Dr. Hazz.ard is a "fasting special
ist. Her arrest was caused m 1910
by JBritish Vice-Consul Agassiz, at
Tacoma, on a charge or first degree
murder for having "caused the death
of Claire Williamson, an English
woman, who was a patient . in Dr.
HazzanTs sanitarium and who, it 'Was
charged," tbolc the 'Starvation cure."
The case was bitterly fought. The
jury compromised on manslaughter.
