DAILY COMMENT ON
At. last -we know what Mrs. P.
Palmer is going to do about that fund
she has been hanging on to like grim
death' for over 20 years.
Mi's. P. Palmer is going to do as
she darned pleases.
Of course, that wouldn't be proper
in the ordinary woman, but then
Mrs. P. Palmer is much more than
that.
Mrs. P. Palmer is one of Chicago's,
institutions.
And, besides that, she is very rich.
Which makes a difference, of course,
in this democratic land of the free
and home of the brave.
Make way for royalty!
If Mr. -Higginbotham and Mrs.
Bowen don't watch out they'll get
pinched for lese majeste.
In the meantime, Mother Jones is
locked up in a Colorado jail for hav
ing the gall to want to help the cause
of humanity.
It is kind o' tough for Special
Prosecutor North,up to have to mort
gage his home to raise funds to keep
up his work as special prosecutor.
If the County Board won't give up
the coin the fair thing for the Trib
to do is to dig down in its jeans and
settler with Northup.
The Trib should make it a point to
take care of its friends.
Now that everybody appears to be
satisfied, go ahead and build that
union depot.
In the meantime we notice that
Rob Redfield, lawyer lobbyist for the
Pennsylvania Railway, has bought a
piece of land on South Canal street
near Taylor.
Bob ought to know a good real es
tate investment when he knows
what's going on.
What a terrible nuisance children
are. They actually get in the way of
automobiles while roller-skating on
Chicago streets.
So the children must get off the
streets.
The boulevards, are for the exclu-
PEOPLF AND THINGS
sive use of autos and newspaper de
livery vehicles.
And if our boulevards didn't cost
so much we might have playgrounds
for the children.
Some Washington women were so
anxious to hear Margaret Wilson sing
that they put on dark glasses and
feigned blindness when she sang for
the blind people.
That listens like quite a high com
pliment The. Department of Agriculture has
put the kibosh on those thousand et
ants that Mrs. Charles W. Morse wafi
bringing to this country for her son
to study..
That's too many ants for one per
son to have, anyway.
