did not believe in "free love" and he
ordered them out and the little girl
says it was then that she first real
ized that she had done wrong, and
she wanted to marry the boy she still
adored.
She fussed over him like a mother
over a little chick. She was wor
ried because she thought he might
not have had luncheon and she want
ed to go out and buy him some sand
wiches. I am sure that when it rains
she makes him wear overshoes.
And when the ceremony was over
the boy stalked out ahead of the
bride and she trailed dutifully after
him, in true married docility, with a
worshipful gleam in her pansy eyes.
A boy of twenty arrested on a
charge of burglary was accused of
holding up an actor and robbing him
of $130. But whisper! It was stage
money.
And a woman who had a
boy arrested, charged with stealing
fifty graphaphone records, received a
big surprise when the boy stated that
the records had been given to him
by the woman's son-in-law, who said
he was sick and tired of bearing the
same old tunes.
Queer tw&ts of life, in that court
room, but one loses the feeling that
there is a prisoner charged, with a
crime, and a judge who is going to
punish him, as one sits at the big
table, and feels instead that a naughty
boy is being given a chance to con
fess in a "family" council.
In my story of yesterday, referring
to moral lepers, the name of the man
charged by Dorothy Moore of taking
her to the New Albany Hotel and
ruining her, was John Cummins, 5123
Sheridan-road, and not John Cun
ningham. '

MAN OF MISFORTUNES AND
WIVES HELD TO GRAND JURY
William K. Nourse, "the man with
three wives," was held to the grand
jury yesterday on a charge of bigamy
after the father of one of his wives
created a scene by offering to whip
him in Judge Wells' court.
John Joiner, Milwaukee, whose
daughter was the second Airs.
Nourse, was the man with the desire
to annihilate Nourse. He had previ
ously given damaging testimony
against his son-in-law.
Nourse said he had always been
unfortunate; unfortunate in busi
ness; unfortunate in the selection of
wives and fortunate in the selection
of fathers-in-law.
Judge Wells increased his misfor
tunes by holding him to the grand
jury.
