MENACE EDITOR IN TOWN
Mv. P. Phelps, publisher of The
Menace, was in Chicago yesterday.
Phelps was .formerly an editor, on
The Appeal to Reason at Girard, Kas.
He and a linotype operator named
JVIcClure went to Aurora, Mb., and
f- started The Menace, with propaganda
against the Catholic church.
Hecently McClure sold out his in
terest and'retired about $500,000 to
the good. Phelps now owns it all, and
with a circulation approaching 1,
