CARE-FOR NATION'S WOUNDED HEROES
Miss Hazel Gibson.
Oakland, Cal. Miss Hazel. Gibson
of this city wants to go to war as "a
Red Cross nurse. " She is the grand
daughter of Countess d'Apery, better
known as Olive Harper, playright
and magazine writer.
Miss Gibson is a student nurse of
the Trinity Hospital in San Francisco.
Previous to entering the hospital' she
went to New York and studied' pen
and ink sketching under Nell Brink
ley. She is also a clever dancer,- hav
ing studied under a noted master in
the" East, but she prefers nursing or
sketching to a stage career.'
"I want to go to Mexico so mubh'l
said Miss Gibson yesterday, "it, -is
the only way a woman qvercan da
anything worth while for her coun
try. It would be such a privilege, to
be allowed to care for the nation's
wounded heroes."
