- CARROTS WITH CANNED PEAS
Scrape and slice the carrots and
boil until 'tender. Add two cups of
canned peas to each cup of carrots
used. Salt to taste. Mix two table
spoons of cornstarch or flour with
a little cold water. Beat until per
fectly smooth and add one tablespoon
of butter, three tablespoons of sugar,
one tablespoon of chopped parsley,
one cup of nnlk and stir into the pan
containing peas and carrots. Cook
until all are very slightly thickened.
Serve very hot.
In families of five or six, often by
using a made dish, one chicken will
be sufficient for a meat dish at din
ner, for if one is careful to boil the
chicken in tightly covered kettles
there will be plenty of stock or broth
for another meal.
Joint chicken, put into warm watei
