OAK PARK "L" IN BAD
As a result of its failure to comply
with the n;ling of the Illinois public
utilities commission, which specified
that plans for elevation of the tracks
"west of the city should be filed 'by
midnight, July 15, the Chicago & Oak
Park "L" has ope of two alternatives
to choose. They may either suspend
operations on the surface or bring
each' train to a dead stop at each
crossing. The latter plan would tack
twenty minutes or more to the pres
ent schedule.
Attorney Gilbert Porter, speaking
for Samuel Insull, receiver of he
road, stated that they have no inten
tion of filing plans for elevation. Th.e,
"dead stop" order goes into effect in
September.
