Adams, Who Sued , Him for Alienating His Wife's Affections, Owes McCormick $38,000 on Notes, and Has Only $10,000 Assets Hearing Tomorrow There are further complications in the Adams-McCormick war in the courts the latest putting E. R. McCormick on the offensive. It now appears that at about the same time Edward S. Adams was filing a declaration in court against R. R. McCormick for $300,000 damages for alienation of the affections of his wife, Amie, Irwin Adams, McCormick was filing proceedings to throw Adams -Into Involuntary bankruptcy. In Adams' declaration against McCormick it was charged that Mc Cormickhad made his home at certain times at the Chicago and Lake Forest residences of Adams; and that while enjoying the hospitality of Adams, McCormick made love to Mrs. Adams. On Friday McCormick filed a petition in bankruptcy .against Adams, charging, that the latter owed .him $38,000 on promissory notes running from lSOTtgo 1913; and that Adams had assets amounting to only $10,000.
