"MARRYING" MONEY HER STAGE
ROLL NOW DOES IT IN LIFE
New York. The "marriage of. the
miracle makers," is what New York
calls the approaching wedding of Nan
Campbell, Virginia beauty and foot
light star, to William Wilson Miller,
counsel for the New York, New
Haven and Hartford.
Nan Campbell worked her miracle
by becoming leading woman in a suc
cessful season, after only four years
of effort to become an actress and
the first year and a half of that time
was spent vainly trying to get onto
,WMam. Miller's miracle was his
recent brief for the defense of the
New York New Haven and Hartford,
which lawyers assert was a master
piece of argument. Miller is a mem
ber of the New York Yacht and many
other clubs and is a prominent so
Miss Campbell's stage success
began when she played the leading
role in "Marrying Money." Later
she was with Blanche Rip in "When
Claudia Smiles," and last season she
was leading woman for John Mason.
Now she has ended her stage career
to "marry money" in real life.

In a letter to women voters of the
14th ward, the Women's Civic
League of that ward urges the fair
sex to register Tuesday, Oct. 13, as
the last chance before the Nov. 3
"Will it pay you to remain at home
because you do not need to register,"
the letter says, "when millions of wo
men who are less fortunate than you
need your vote because it will mean
betterment of conditions?"
