$200 by judge for passing bogus
checks.
Helen Welch, 12, daughter of John
Welch, lawyer living -m Highland
Park, yesterday found a burglar in
home when she came from school.
Obtaining father's revolver, she
chased him from the house.
William Sloan, 733 N. Clark st., ar
rested Sunday night while speaking
at Chicago av. and Clark St., to be
tried by" jury today
Five of 9 men who escaped from
the Kankakee jail Tuesday have been
captured.
Mrs. Jane Comerford, 74, 50-year
resident of Chicago and mother of
Frank Comerford, attorney who re
cently defended Carl Person, died at
