Roger Sullivan and his supporters
were still claiming victory, although
by the Republican organization he is
declared to have been defeated and
Lawrence Sherman won.
OPEN FORUM SPEAKERS TALK
ON WAR ANGLES
Leonard P. Straube, member ex
ecutive board of Chicago Federation
of Labor, will speak on the attitude
of union labor toward the war next
Sunday night at the open forum be
ing held at the Grace Church.
The forum is held in the parish
house after a short service in the
church by Rev. William Otis Waters,
pastor, who is conducting the forum.
A different subject discussed every
Sunday night from all angles, will be
taken up each month. The present
subject is 'Teace and War."
Last Sunday night Bishop Ander
son spoke on the attitude of "the
Christians toward the war. A week
from Sunday night the Socialist will
be heard from, '

DEMOCRATS MAKE CLEAN-UP IN
A clean sweep for the Democrats
that's the only' name1 for the result
of the county election.
Sheriff, treasurer, clerk, county
judge and so on through the list the
Democrats shaded the Republicans
and routed the Moosers.
Peter Reinberg wilL have a 50,000
lead over A. A. McCormick for the
presidency of the County Board. The
board is entirely Democratic if the
present indications are true.
Judge Scully was a comfortable
winner for county judge.
The Democrats are in control of
the sanitary district for the first time
In many years and although returns
in Municipal Judge balloting are not
in, their strength in other depart-?
ments probably means victory here,
too, for the .Democrats,
