Florence Lawrense was born in
Hamilton, Can., and the first time she
appeared on the stage, was in her
mother's arms, wrapped in a -fluffy
blanket, when she was npt yet a year,
old. Her mother, Lptta Lawrence,,
was an actress and was compelled
to take "Baby Florence with her on
her tours.
In 1907 Miss Lawrence applied for
a positibn as "extra" actress- at the
Edison company and' was engaged' to
take a part in "Daniel'Boone." Since
then more than a thousand -photoplays
have recorded her delightful
personality, which is unlike that of
any other motion.picture player.
'From the Edison' studio Miss Law
pany, and next she joined the Bio
graph forces, where, first as "The
Biograph Girl" and then as "Mrs.
Jonesy" of a. famous Biograph series
of pictures, Miss Lawrence was
known- to millions.
