An ld farmer of Ayrshire had a
habit of feigning deafness when he
wanted to avoid answering an awK
ward question. One day a neighbor
said 'to him:
"I'd like to borrow your cart this
morning. Mine is having a spring

old farmer answered. "I don't hear
very well and I don't like to lend
my cart, anyhow."
