Bert Harris, bible class student,
star stool pigeon for "Rev." Elmer L.
Williams, the north side minister, who
calls Tiimself the "fighting pastor,"
was the man named by Myrtle San
tay, gjrl-victim'of circumstances, who

Harris was the most -active of "Wil
liams' amateur sleuths when "the
"Reverend' JEImer was carrying on

sought to "be a congressman.'
Harris ,and Williams .got th'efr
hands on the girl after she was sent
to the Bridewell after Eddie Halpin,
nepnew of Polide Capt Halpin had
got her drunk and then taken her to
a hotel.
For allowing Eddie Halpin to treat
her in this way, Judge Mahoney sent
her to the 'Bridewell on a $20Q -fine
and allowed Halpin to go-free.
