My second experience was of the
same character, only this time it was
only my employer who tried to force
his unwelcome attentions on me, and
finding himself unable to do this,
promptly "fired" me and attempted
to lay the blame on me. I quickly
saw through it all and gave that man
such a round, royal scorching as he
never got before in his life and never

TALENT IN MAID OF SEVEN
r Lena Baskette, 7-year-old classic dancer of San Mateo, Cal., whose
remarkable talent was revealed when her mother surprised her imporvising
fantastic steps to the music pf the family phonograph. She is the tiniest
and most natural dancer in California, her native state. Lena has appeared!
at many entertainments, and a brilliant future is being predicted for her.

Wheat Biscuit Sift together 3
times 2 cups of entire wheat flour, 1
cup of white flour, 2 level teaspoons
of sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking pow
der. With long knife work into flour
mixture 2 teaspoons of shortening.
Mix to soft dough by adding 1 cup
Just our luck! When we worked
on a farm wheat was 60 cents; now
we have to buy it, up it goes to $1.44.
