JUDGE OLSON RAPS POLICE IN
HULL HOUSE RIOT CASE
Chief Justice Olson of the Munici
pal court took a heavy fall out
of the police for their actions in the
Hull House unemployed riot several
weeks ago.
The case came before Judge Olson
after Att'ys William A- Cunnea and
Wm. F. Rodriguez, representing the
men and women arrested after the
riot, had asked for a change of venue
from Judge Mahoney to Judge Gem
mill. In Olson's court Detective Ser
geants Chas. Yancey and Make Mills
stepped up to the bench and informed
the judge that this was the case of
"the riot started by Lucy Parsons and
Immediately Judge Ilson scored"
the attitude of the ponce ana sug
gested that it looked as though the
police were framing up to injure Jane
Addams and Hull House.
He granted the plea of the attor
neys to transfer the case.
