SUING HUSBAND SAYS SHE
LIKED EX"-GOVERNORS KISSES
Mrs. Emma B. Freeman, society
woman of Eureka, Cal., whose hus
band in a sensational divorce suit
charged that Richard D. Yates, for
mer governor of Illinois, kissed her
half a dozen times in the course of
a railway journey to San Francisco.
. It was specifically alleged by Ed
ward R. Freeman, art dealer of Eu
reka, that ex-Governor Yates kissed
Mrs. Freeman whenever the train
passed through a tunnel. And there
are a good many tunnels on the way,'
Former Governor Yates is said to
have first met Mrs. Freeman at her
home, on invitation of the husband,
when the Illinois notable came west
on a Chatauqua tour. Mrs. Freeman
admitted making the trip with Yates,
but said she did not come as his guest,
as charged by the irate husband.
