SOME CLOSE CALL
Two men clad in convict garb at
tracted the attention of a young Cali
fornian. The latter saw the crowd
that w.a,s- hotly pursuing the fugitives
and determined to bring the convicts
to a halt. Drawing a revolver he
pumped three shots after them. The
men came to an abrupt stop. A min
ute later the young Californian was
being informed, none too politely,
that he had spoiled a scene which
was being filmed for "The Liberty
Party," a new "Ham" comedy, and
that the fugitives were none other
than Ham and Bud, the famous Ka
lem comedians. It is safe to say that
the young marksman will be more
careful about sending bullets after
fleeing men in the future.
