HOW TO BE BEAUTIFUL! SMILE! LOOK PLEAS
ANT! SO SAYS FILM FAVORITE
JDOROTKY
Miss Dorothy Cish Posing Especially To Illustrate This Beauty Article.
BY ESTHER HOFFMAN
"A plain girl can in the slang lan
guage of today get away with it' if
she will look pleasant," said ever
smiling Dorothy Gish the other day
when asked what a homely girl
should do to make people forget her
plainness.
"You know," she continued, "there
are no real ugly girls in the world.
Every girl is pretty to someone if
she can only find him.
"You know a famous beauty start
ed on a career of 'beauty advisor' a
few years ago with that one creed.
"Look pleasant Smile with the
world and at the world. Smile when
you are happy and smile if you are
sad. Smile at yourself and with your
friends.
"Laugh at your enemies and at
those who hate you and the first
thing you know you will be the most
popular girl in your set. People won't
look any farther than your smile and
it goes without saying they will say:
'I like that girl with the entrancing:
smile.' "
