"A DAY AT SAN DIEGO FAIR"
Pa Shultz . Max Asher
Ma Shultz ,.Gale Henry
Heinie Wm. Franey
Jakie Milburn Moranti
Flirty Miss . .DoUy Ohnet
The Shultz family arrives at the
fair grounds. The two kids scheme a
way of gaining entry without pay
ing. It works grandly and all enter.
The beautiful panorama bewilders
them, which results in the party run
ning afoul of the little electric obser
vation chairs. These chairs have
been dubbed "chicken scoops." They
make a decided hit with Shultz. He
decides to save shoe leather and hires
one. But the pesky thing becomes
unmanageable and tears through the
grounds with all hanging on to it for
dear life. Little Heinie falls off and
before joining them again has an ex
perience with the Indians.
Heinie finds the folks surrounded
by hungry pigeons. He joins the
family in feeding them. The tame
birds eat from their hands and even
from their mouths.
In an ice cream parlor Pa Shultz
is attracted by a flirty little miss, who
invites him for a stroll through the
"isthmus." Of course Pa goes. But
Ma gets wind of his action later and
dashes in search of him, leaving the
kids to themselves. The kids take ad
vantage and have great fun among
the many concessions.
Shultz is having a high old time
with the flirty miss when wifey
finally locates him. He escapes, how
ever, running away to avoid her in
furiated blows. His attempt to hide
among the concessions only brings
more disaster to him. As last, be
coming desperate, he sees a balloon
preparing to go up and makes a wild
run for it. The kids witness ma's dis--tress
and join her in rounding up
their side-stepping Pa,
Shultz reaches the balloon in the
neck of time. He clutches the bas
ket and is just soaring upward when
the folks arrive. Chagrined and hor
rified, they watch the balloon until
it disappears in the clouds with Pa
Shultz waving back in derision.
