guns of a British dreadnaught!
The dreadnaught is H. M. S. Pina
fore, done 1915 style. The defending
party, strongly entrenched in succes
sive rows of theater seats, is subject
ed to a brilliant bombardment with
the choicest of Gilbert and Sullivan
The attacking party is the "Gilbert
and Sullivan Revue" beautiful
Kathryn Irving in command. It is the
invasion of vaudeville by the comio
opera of the last century.
Somebody made a pot-pourri of
four Gilbert and Sullivan plots, pick
ed out the catchiest gems from the
four operas, put them intact in the
mouths of a first class chorus, dress
ed the chorus in colorful costume,
put them on the deck of a modern
battleship and plumped the battleship
into the middle of a New York stage.
The success of his assault has been
the sensation of the week,
