guests will be Mrs. Oakley C. Curtis,

One of the most fascinating and ex
traordinary stars produced by the
moving picture art is Theda Bara,
"the vampire woman," who has
achieved fame almost over night
She created her first sensation on
the legitimate stage in the Theater
Antoine, Paris, where her sinuous
beauty won instant recognition.
She was induced to come to this
country by the Fox Film Corp., and
in "A Fool There Was," "The Clemen
ceau Case" and "The Kreutzer So
nata" has done notable work. Artists
rave over her beautifully wicked eyes,
whose smoldering, baleful light has
been perpetuated by the famous por
trait painter, Roland Montaigne St
Cyr in his wonderful painting which
has proved the .art thrill of the day in
New York, where it is now on exhibi
tion. In "Th'e Devil's Daughter" it is said
Theda Bara does- the greatest work
of her career, and in addition wears
